B.V.
Competence profile Operator Job group 9:
• Operator level 3 or 4 / Vapro B level our equal.
• Able to speak and read Dutch.
• Driving license B
• Motivated and curious as by nature.
• Team player
• Willing to work weekends and night (full 5 shift model, 2 morning / 2 afternoon /2 nights, 4 off)
All main products (Gasoline / Diesel / Ethanol / HVO and GTL, ADN class 3 products) are coming in by
barge and are discharged into the tanks on the terminal and are li0ed by trucks.
Additives are supplied by truck (ADR products class 3 and 9).
Opening hours of the terminal: 365 Days, 24/7. The operational team is a mix of Shell contracted
operators.
The operators are responsible for managing the basic operations of the terminal including but not
limited to surveillance rounds, handling the supplying barges, operating the firefighting equipment in
case of an emergency and is the first focal point for the drivers. See below scope overview.
During the weekend/night hours there are no contractors on site to execute maintenance or other
ac+vi+es. In case breakdown maintenance ac+vi+es are required on site the Shell Terminal manager
will decide if a Shell Operator needs to come to site to issue the Permit to Work To cover the needs of
the contract for the Arnhem Terminal, a pool of 5 to 6 operators is required.
The operators will run a 5 shift pattern. Shore Officer (FLBM) assessments for the training program
mandatory for safety critical positions. All operators will be trained and assessed according to the
FLBM Shore Officer program. In addition FLBM assessment for Asset Management (AMS) will be done
for selected staff.
Scope of ac+vi+es of the Arnhem Terminal Operator:
• Pre arrival contact with barges
• (Pre-) arrival Paperwork check of loading
• Documentation during arrival of barges
• Executing quality checks of product before discharging (density/conductivity)
• Product handling and sampling
• Safety rounds and quality checks during discharge procedure
• Discharging barges
• Discharging additive trucks
• Perform operator surveillance rounds including ADR checks.
• Handling of terminal automation system (TAS/PLC) during discharge of barges and truck loading
• Analyzing and solving malfunctions of the system
• Solving small issues and executing small repairs
•Focal point for truck drivers during service
• House keeping
• Permit to Work training (Pi / LPi)
• Focal point for emergency services in case of an emergency
• Starting the emergency response procedure in case of an emergency
• Activities need to be executed alone, there is a single man occupation of the terminal.
• There will be a SHELL Operator available by phone for assistance in case of an incident/emergency.
• Performing maintenance surveillance tasks (FLBM AMS required)
• Perform gas testing (Certification required)
• Initiate and implement improvement opportunities Execution of the activities above will be done
according to the company Local Operating Procedures (LoP’s)
