 Shell Convenience Retail is looking for a Convenience Retail (CR) Operational Excellence Specialist to join the Operations Team. Shell Retail is the largest branded fuels and convenience retailer in the world and is the number one preferred brand in our sector. Daily millions of consumers choose our premium fuels and shop products. Shell is committed to further developing this area of growth and hence gaining 50% market share from non-fuels retail is one of our key ambitions for 2025. As a CR Operational Excellence Specialist, you have a key role in achieving this ambition as you are responsible to drive end-to-end CR Operational Excellence Performance across the BENEFRUX cluster. It is our goal to realise our Marketing P’s (price, promotion, place and product) on time and in full by end-to-end flawless preparation and execution directly to sites and indirectly through retailers. In addition to that, CR is driving new concepts and formats to target its growth ambition. As a CR Operational Excellence Specialist, you will be involved in various projects wherein you will have a role to identify how for example a new solution (robotics, electronic shelf labelling) or new formats (unmanned, automated shops) can bring value to our customers, retailers and to Shell. 

To thrive in this role, you need to have strong stakeholder management skills as you need to drive an ambitious agenda together with internal and external stakeholders. You are responsible for identifying and driving opportunities that will deliver business growth and work to successfully implement new strategies, ideas, initiatives and external partnerships. This requires strong project management skills as well as an appetite for change and continuous improvement. 

Operational Excellence Specialist - accountabilties include:

• Quarterly delivery of the Field Merchandising Program (measuring compliancy of execution of the 4 marketing Ps at Shell sites) with support from 3rd party vendors.
• Facilitate and drive, together with CR and Sales, an improvent programme aimed to improve Field Merchandising scores and CR Operational Excellence on our retail sites (Subject Matter Expert sessions & Site Inspiration Day).
• Contract Holder for 3rd pary vendors for Field Merchandising (Veritas & Hamilton Bright).
• Investigate oppertunities and aim to implement a digital tool (AI) or platform to measure compliancy of CR initiatives at site (alternative for current Field Merchandising program.
• Perform and drive active research (study) on digital and seamless initiatives to help increase a better shop and forecourt experience for our customers, on site and online, underpinned by efficiencies in our shop and forecourt operations.
• Support or lead projects aimed to reduce or optimise (retailer) cost through new solutions (robotics) or by driving new ways of working (working by night)
• Maintain external focus to understand (technological) solutions to improve site operations.
• Owner of the Operational Excellence Dashboard for Mobility – providing clear insight in effiencies in shop and forecourt operations to teamleads and management.
• The CR Operational Excellence Specialist is the linking pin between the CR, Sales and Operations team within Mobility.
• Support compliance to Operating Principles and asses/manage any variances and support implementation of new processes, procedures and systems
