Job Purpose:
- Performs analytical tests and tasks within the lab to an extent of the individual job group (JG), see table below).

Dimensions:
- Lab analyst operates within a specific laboratory workgroup and reports to the team lead of the respective workgroup (who reports to lab manager).
Principal Accountabilities:
Detailed information for differences between JG10, 9 and 8 in Dutch is available at the lab manager.

Specifics and extra accountabilities related to analysts in JG8 operating in the field group team (Emission measurements & Sampling Team). Analysts in this group on JG10/9 are responsible for performing and reporting the work according to table below.

1. Operates as skill guardian of analytical techniques applied within workgroup;
2. Initializes the implementation of new developments to further improve the laboratory support;
3. Performs complex analytical projects (including project proposals) in an effective way;
4. Challenges project proposals to make sure that deliverables are “fit for purpose” for operation;
5. Realizes ongoing improvements (efficiency and quality) of methods routinely applied;
6. Make sure that the non-routine work to support operational units is fit for purpose;
7. Follows analytical developments inside and outside Shell in area of expertise;
8. Provides technical training/coaching to staff.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- MBO: start JG10 or HLO: start JG8
- Good knowledge of analytical techniques and potential to develop within the lab.
Specifics and related to analysts in JG8 operating in the field group team:
- 5 to 10 years experience in the area of emission measurements and sampling.
- Knowledge of relevant norms in the area of emission measurements: ISO 17025, NEN 14181 and CEN / TS 15675.
