LABORATORY NIR ANALYST SPECIALIST
Job Purpose:
- Performs analytical tests and tasks within the laboratory
- Maintain equipment and techniques applied within workgroup
- Continue improve work processes and procedures for this analytical technique to guarantee efficient and reliable support.
- Assurance of the assigned models and associated online instruments

Dimensions:
- Laboratory Specialist operates within laboratory workgroup and reports to team leader (who reports to
lab manager).
- Skill guardian of instrumentation with a value of approximate 1M euro (dependent on technical department).

Principal Accountabilities:
1. Assurance of all chemometric models and analytical techniques within the team.
2. Initializes the implementation of new developments to further improve the laboratory support;
3. Performs complex analytical projects (including project proposals) in an effective way;
4. Deliverables are “fit for purpose” applications and assures ongoing improvements (efficiency and quality) of methods routinely applied;
5. Delivers request and work on time
6. Provides technical training/coaching to staff.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- HLO in analytical chemistry (or similar).
- 5-10 years’ experience as technical Analyst/specialist in a refinery or chemical plant laboratory.
- In depth theoretical and practical knowledge of techniques like NIR, IR, UV and NMR.
- Proven Expertise in the area of molecular spectrometry.
- Good knowledge of requirements of Q-system (ISO 17025).
- Customer focus.
- Experience with Chemometric Software and creating/maintaining models
- Proved skills in training and coaching new laboratory analysts.
- Validation using statistical methods
- Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Partial Least Squares (PLS), Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) and Classification techniques
- Design Of Experiments (DOE)
- Passion for automation and IT knowledge is certainly an advantage
