Programme Managers may manage either a suite of interdependent projects that together contribute to longer-term business strategy or multiple project managers who each lead part of a portfolio or programme. Project Managers plan, control and execute a project or set of related projects to meet identified business needs and deliver business value. Leads small programmes of moderate-to-high complexity and risk. Typical programme size: 10-20 FTE OR A Project Manager leading medium-to-large projects of moderate-to-high complexity and risk. Typical project size: 10-20 FTE. Strong stakeholder management required, involving coaching and partnering with business stakeholders to validate the programmes strategic business case, define success metrics and criteria, and to identify, measure, and sustain planned vs. achieved benefit.
This position plays a critical role in meeting operational performance expectations by - making proactive interventions including the use of data and analytics to help solve systemic issues - demonstrating strong and visible leadership in leading a global team of subject matter experts providing 3rd level support for business consumed services. - Defining, developing and sustaining the required technical skills of the team Requirements Accountabilities: • To develop and maintain technical skills and working relationships within Shell and externally such that the operational performance of the service consumed by Businesses is secure, reliable and meets performance objectives • To ensure sustainable resolutions of all major operational problems in the Connectivity services scope. • Participate in a broad range of DRBs/Steering Teams for New Service Developments and Products, representing Connectivity SOM with decision making. People Dimensions: • Number of direct reports: 0 Business Dimensions: Seniority of Stakeholder engagement: Senior & Executive levels Portfolio complexity: A number of global suppliers are active in the portfolio Special Challenges The incumbent will manage activities with a high degree of autonomy driven by operational nature and real time criticality of the role. The operational nature of the role will require out of hours, sometimes unplanned, working Qualifications Technical • Typical Years of Experience: 12+ years in IT with years in a Telecom Company • Significant experience of working in a senior management role with similar dimensions to this role in Shell • Minimum Education or Certification: 4-year Degree related to IT Skills • Ability to solve technical operational issues • Ability to work in a team with subject matter experts in other areas e.g. hosting, clients using a good technical understanding of their areas • Proven ability to exploit data and analytics to ensure delivery of secure and reliable services • Proven and well-developed man management and leadership skills, • Experience of working as a customer with 3rd parties • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills • Language skills, English, • Proven experience in managing compliance
